A recent study conducted by the University of Texas South-western Medical Centre suggests that a normal blood pressure level is maintained with the help of a good body weight. The study, which observed the blood pressure of 35000 people, revealed that overweight people had a higher systolic pressure. It has also been observed that an overall fitness will not contribute much towards lowering the blood pressure. Therefore, people who are trying to control their blood pressure need to lose some weight.

There are many other studies as well which show a direct correlation between obesity and blood pressure levels. The higher your weight is, the higher your blood pressure is going to be. However, this does not mean that you should focus only on losing weight. Your overall fitness is also important to some extent. Once the desired weight is achieved, it is only your fitness that will help in bringing the blood pressure down and keeping it there.

However, when people begin working at losing extra pounds, they do not worry much about their fitness. They focus on the outward--- that is they see that they are becoming slimmer and slimmer but do not realise that they are also affecting their fitness from inside. Hence, while losing weight, you need to keep in mind that you are not losing your fitness as well. Here are some easy tips to shed extra weight and also strengthen yourself from the inside:

some easy tips to shed extra weight

•    The first mistake that most people make is that they go on a crash diet or start binging. They do not realise that whatever weight you lose by this method will be regained very quickly once you go of this diet. Furthermore, it will also make you nutritionally deficient. Thus, avoid such type of dieting.
•    Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Your diet should be enriched in fibre and whole grains.
•    Exercising every day will help you in losing weight and increasing the strength in your body. Try brisk walking for 30 minutes every day and you will not only lose weight but also feel fresh and healthy.

Conclusively, blood pressure can be effectively lowered only when your weight is under control. Then in order to maintain it, your fitness plays an essential role
